Help Make the Linnton Community Resilient

By Nancy Hiser

Jeremy Van Keuren, Community Preparedness Manager from the Portland Bureau of Emergency Management, presented at February’s Linnton neighborhood meeting, offering support for Linnton’s community resilience efforts.

Prior to the meeting, Jeremy met with a few Neighborhood Emergency Team (NET) members to brainstorm ways to move forward in the wake of our waning NET team. The resulting plan is for Community Resilience meetings to include NETs and community members. Meetings will be held an hour prior to the Linnton neighborhood general meeting every other month. The public is invited along with Sauvie Island NET members. And, because Linnton is in the high-risk wildland-urban interface zone, we will include Firewise issues and our neighboring Firewise representatives from the Forest Park neighborhood.
