Welcome Back to Our in Person Town Hall Neighborhood Meeting

By Sarah Taylor, Interim board chair

After a challenging two years, we invite all Linnton renters, homeowners, and business owners to join us as we return to in-person meetings for our Wednesday, May 4 neighborhood meeting. We will gather in the Upper Meeting Room at Linnton Community Center, located at 10615 NW St. Helens Rd. Thanks to LCC for letting us continue to meet at the Center.

We invite you to join us at 6:30 pm with refreshments to learn about ways you can get involved and make a difference in the Linnton community. Leaders from the Linnton Neighborhood Emergency Team (NET) and Firewise will be tabling with information. Linnton Community Center representatives can tell you about summer camp, pre-school and other programs. Others are welcome to set up tables for small businesses or projects.

Our May meeting would typically be our annual meeting to hold Board elections. Instead, we’ll use the next few months to recruit neighbors interested in stepping up to help guide our collective priorities in the coming years. If interested in serving on the board, you can show up early to chat with current board members or contact me. We’ll hold elections at the July 6 meeting.

At the May meeting, everyone is invited to share their vision, ideas, and questions about the neighborhood. In future meetings we’ll work together to prioritize and craft a workplan to address common issues. We also invite participants to share a story of how you and neighbors helped support each other during COVID and beyond.

If you need childcare, please contact me in advance at sarahsojourner@mac.com by Sunday, May 1.

We can arrange childcare in LCC’s lower preschool room.
