RIVER TRAIL PROJECT RECEIVES COURT DATE

By Brian Hoop

Linnton’s river trail project has entered the discovery phase. This is the phase of the legal process where all parties are gathering and turning over to the other’s lawyers related, applicable documents so that facts can be established and legal questions more precisely considered.

The city has not provided its documents yet, and Mr. Webb will need to provide additional documents.  The neighborhood’s project lawyers will be pushing to make this occur after our side’s provision of all of our documents.

The good news is that a trial date has been set for May 18, 2026.  Ahead of this, there may be depositions and motions by the defendants. The project has already prevailed against their first motions.

With the timeline now established, the project schedule remains possible to build later next year – prior to the end of the grant’s extended term. Of course, the project will continue to welcome specific settlement proposals from either Mr. Webb or the City; however, none have ever been offered so far.
