ODOT is preparing to install 17 stormwater treatment facilities to clean runoff on St. Helens Rd./Hwy 30 from the Fremont Bridge through the Linnton neighborhood beginning next summer of 2026.
Each facility will connect into existing stormwater pipes removing large debris like trash and smaller pollutants like metals and oils from the water. When untreated, these pollutants would otherwise wash into drains and nearby waterways leading to the Willamette River.
Nearby residents may experience nighttime noise from construction, periodic nighttime closures on NW Bridge Ave. and detours through St. Johns to access NW Springville Rd. and NW Germantown Rd., and lane shifts and intermittent nighttime land closures between Nicolai St. and Sauvie Island.
