Shannon Jones Isadore is Linnton’s Oregon Representative for District 33 replacing Maxine Dexter who went on to be Portland’s US Representative in Congress. Isadore, a Democrat, won the November election with 83% of the vote on a platform advocating for downtown revitalization, public safety, access to treatment and safety, economic development, and reproductive freedom.
Isadore is a mental and behavioral health provider and chief executive of Oregon Change Clinic, since 2021. OCC is a culturally-specific, outpatient treatment facility for substance use recovery and mental health disorders specializing in working with the Black, Indigenous, People of Color communities in Portland, Oregon.
She is a veteran of Desert Shield and Desert Storm having served in the Marine Corps from 1990 to 1994. In addition to her human services background, she was a broker, owner and senior marketing director with Aegon USA/Transamerica Financial, a financial services company, for 10 years.
Shannon is a native Portlander having grown up in the Albina neighborhood and graduated from Lincoln High School.
As Vice Chair of the Economic Development, Small Business, and Trade Committee, she is a chief sponsor of HB 3377 to secure $10 million in lottery bonds to help construct the proposed James Beard Public Market in downtown Portland. Isadore is also championing several bills to establish a certification program for home care workers providing services for people with complex medical needs.
Shannon is a sponsor of HB 3450 to direct the State Department of Energy to develop an energy storage transition plan for the Critical Energy Infrastructure HUB, an issue of significant concern to the Linnton neighborhood.
