In July the City of Portland gave tentative approval for RestorCap to begin construction of the pathway alongside the north side of the Linnton Mill site. Originally, the plan was to install permeable cement for the pathway materials, but PP&R decided it would prefer the standard asphalt with bioswales that it has installed in many other places. Approval for this change should be issued this month, and construction is scheduled to begin in September. The path at its eastern end will align and join to the existing greenway behind Harmer Steel but will not extend to the cliffside on the farthest eastern border of the mill site. The pathway will be lined with machinery from the mill site and will have descriptive plaques at each item and native plantings throughout the area. Once completed, the pathway will be transitioned to PP&R for maintenance.
